One Week With Her is a book that narrates an unusual love story—one that happens in a corporate training center. Summary Of The Book The induction training program that a person undergoes on joining a software company can be memorable in many ways. During this time, trainees are paid for doing minimal work, and will have the freedom to explore, enjoy, and even party. When the training center is located at an enchanting place like Trivandrum, the setting just serves as an added bonus. With its attractive beaches and temples and backed by misty mountains, Trivandrum, the capital city of Kerala, is the setting for this novel. Ashish, the protagonist, meets Poonam in such a backdrop. She is in town for her training, prepared to return to Bangalore to pursue with her job. Ashish is smart and light-hearted, and even though he has met many girls, he realizes that with Poonam, everything is different. He falls in love with her in an instant. The bigger challenge is just ahead of him, though. He has just seven days to convince her, before her training ends. Beside these two, there is another interesting and important character in the novel - Ravi, the witty and handsome colleague of Ashish’s. Major Narayan, the Administrative Head of the training center, is yet another interesting character. The story takes place over a course of seven days, and each day, it follows the two main characters, Ashish and Poonam, and the time that they spend in each other’s company. Are they the kindred souls, destined to spend the rest of their lives together, or are they just ships that pass each other in the vast ocean of life? About Biswanath Pati Biswanath Pati has a Masters Degree in Computer Science and a Doctorate in Applied Economics. He hails from Bhuvaneswar, but has travelled extensively through India and abroad. One Week With Her is his debut novel. Pati works as a consultant with a major health-care company in the United States.
