Author Biography
Wendy is a Specialist in Restorative Dentistry and a Consultant at the The London School of Medicine and Dentistry where she is also Centre Lead for Adult Oral Health. She is a Fellow of Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons and completed the Specialist Training programme in Restorative Dentistry in 2004. Wendy is on the General Dental Council list of recognised specialists in Periodontology and Restorative Dentistry. She has an active role within the British Society of Periodontology and has sat on the Council for the last three years. Wendy is also a passionate academic and has been actively involved with the training of Hygienists, Dentists and Periodontists for over 10 yearsShakeel Shahdad is a Consultant and Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry at The Royal London Dental Hospital. He is a specialist in Restorative Dentistry, Periodontics, Prosthodontics and Endodontics. He qualified in 1992 and attained a Master's degree in Restorative Dentistry from the Queen's University of Belfast in 1995. Subsequently he worked and trained at Morriston Hospital, Swansea; University Dental Hospital, Cardiff; and in Dubai where he worked for Emirates Airlines. After returning to the UK he completed his specialist training at Newcastle Dental Hospital in April 2005. Apart from the specialist restorative treatment, hisareas of particular interest include implant dentistry and management of complex restorative cases. He is the Clinical Lead for postgraduate implant training at The Royal London Dental Hospital and the Institute of Dentistry, Queen Mary's School of Medicine and Dentistry. He also runs a Specialist Restorative practice in the West End of London.
