He is plagued by enemies within the Night’s Watch and the Others, who live on the other side of the Wall. Tyrion Lannister, the dwarf, escapes from King’s Landing after being given a death sentence for murdering King Joffrey, his nephew, although he has been wrongly accused of the same. The book takes readers through what Tyrion does next, as he is torn between rising against his father and pursuing Daenerys. A Dance With Dragons was published in 2011 and was an instant success. It was immediatly ranked #1 on the New York Times Bestseller list. About George R. R. Martin George R. R. Martin is an American writer who has written works of fantasy and science fiction. Other books by George R. R. Martin include Dying of the Light, Windhaven, Fevre Dream, The Armageddon Rag, Hunter's Run, A Song for Lya, The Skin Trade, Shadow Twin, and Meathouse Man. George Raymond Richard Martin was born in the year 1948 in New Jersey. His first brush with writing came in the form of writing superhero comic-books such as The Fantastic Four. He holds a BS in Journalism from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. He also has a master’s degree in Journalism from the same college. He’s married to his long time girlfriend Parris McBride and they currently stay together in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
