Herbs are plants which are useful to us not only in the form of food, shelter, cooling the atmosphere, removal of CO2 waste but also serve us in many ways and also delight us, cure us from ailments and bring us more nearer to the ‘Mother Nature’. The impact of industrialization, the rise of science and technology, loss of patience, fast life, going for quick remedies and without bothering for their side effects, has totally curtailed our involvement with nature. Along with it our concept of the term ‘Herb’ was forced to a dozen or two or the seasoning plants. Recent research and development on plants has again opened our age old Pandora Box called ‘Ayurveda’ and boosted tremendous surge of interest in herbs. The object of this book was only to let scientists, pharmacologists, medicinist and all other allied or concerned persons to get a detailed information of morphology, parts used, chemical constituents, biological activities and usages about these ‘Herbs’. Lastly some usages of the plants are also given as herbal home remedies, but still a note of caution considering different nature of each and every human beings one must take them in consultation of the physician.
