Basic Electronics Engineering has been specially designed to serve as a textbook for a textbook for an introductory course on the subject. It meets the requirements of a large spectrum of I and II semester undergraduate students of all branches of engineering. The book has been developed with an eye on the interpretation of concepts and application of theories. Dr Jyoti Prasad Bandyopadhyay is currently, Professor, Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics and Director, Centre of Millimeter Wave Semiconductor Devices and Systems, University of Calcutta. He has been involved with teaching and research for more than three decades at the University of Calcutta. His research interest covers Microwave and Millimeter Wave Semiconductor Devices, Photonics and Quantum Effect Devices. He has published about 125 research papers in peer reviewed international journals, several of which are highly cited. He has successfully guided a large number of Phd students at the University of Calcutta. He is the recipient of Indian National Science Academy award, Griffith Memorial Prize and many other national and international awards. Prof. Bandyopadhyay is a fellow of IETE and a senior member of IEEE.
