This a set of the first three volumes of the very popular Conversation With God series. According to the author, the novel started with a rant. Disappointed with many things in his life, Neale Donald Walsch wrote an angry letter to God, asking many questions. When he finished, he seemed to hear a distinct voice asking him whether he really wanted answers to these questions or was he just venting. He looked around, but there was no one there. But, he soon realized that answers to all his questions were forming in his mind and decided to write them down. These books draw from the beliefs of many different faiths, especially Eastern religions like Hinduism and Buddhism. As these books put it, existence is non-dual, ultimately, there is no difference between God and all His creation. Everyone has the means to create everything they need, and fulfill all their desires. The author also asserts the idea of the rebirth of souls to reach the ultimate goal of realization of God. He believes that God is talking to everyone all the time, not just to him. It is just a question of who is willing to listen rather than who God is talking to. He can talk to a person through a song, through the sight of a sunset, in the sound of laughter, and so on. Most of the ideas discussed in the book are already existing in many Western and Eastern religions. The author just presents them in a way that is suitable to the times. He makes it easy to read and identify with the ideas, and asks the readers to explore their own spirituality in their own way. The box set of the three books contains Conversations With God, Books 1, 2, and 3. These books are widely referred to as the CwG Trilogy. Neale Donald Walsch has worked in different industries, as a radio program director, newspaper managing editor, in public relations and in marketing. Other books by Walsch follow the same spiritual theme, although they are not all direct dialogs with God These include, Communion with God, Friendship with God: An Uncommon Dialogue, and When God Steps in, Miracles Happen. After suffering a series of misfortunes that included a fire that destroyed his property, breakup of his marriage, and an accident that resulted in a broken neck, Walsch became depressed and wrote a letter to God asking many questions. This started the book, Conversations With God. The book became a bestseller and Walsch followed it up with many others.
