About the Author Om Prakash received his higher education at the University of Allahabad and obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Delhi in 1959 on the topic Food and Drinks in Ancient India. The learned scholar taught and carried out researches in ancient Indian history and culture at the University of Delhi for many years. He published a large number of research papers in reputed national and international journals besides authoring few well-known treatises in his field both in English and Hindi which are still running into repeat editions.
