The first chapter deals with democratic transitions in Greece, Portugal and Spain, Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, Bolivia nad Ecuador, Chili and the Philippines. In the second chapter the authors analyze the conditions, the problems and the prospects of democratic consolidation in the same countries.
