L. S. Srinath received his PhD from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago and is one of their distinguished alumni. He was Professor of Mechanics and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Kansas, Lawrence (USA) before returning to India. He has served at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur and also at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. In addition, Professor Srinath has served as Director of IIT - Madras, Chennai. Professor Srinath has authored several books and technical papers.
