Switchgear plays a fundamental role within the power supply industry. It is required to isolate faulty equipment, divide large networks into sections for repair purposes, reconfigure networks in order to restore power supplies and control other equipment. This invaluable reference source begins with the general principles of the switchgear function and leads on to discuss topics such as interruption techniques, fault level calculations, switching transients and electrical insulation. Solutions to practical problems associated with distribution switchgear are also included. Also available:Power System Protection 1: Principles and components - ISBN 9780852968345SF6 Switchgear - ISBN 9780863411236The Institution of Engineering and Technology is one of the world's leading professional societies for the engineering and technology community.
