He is a former Academic Counsellor in Indira Gandhi National Open University and Former Research Fellow, Indian National Science Academy, which keeps association with over 200 countries of the world. He has represented India in various International Conferences including the United Nations Conferences (Development of Asia).Jafar Mahmud is an acclaimed author of 30 books. The author an eminent futurist was also associated with UNESCO, ILO and UNICEF Projects. He was Project Director of Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia.
