  • Author Biography

    s Dr. S P Singh He is having over 31 years of experience in teaching, research, extension and administratin. Dr. Singh was the recipient of Common Wealth Post Doctoral Fellowship during 1990-91. The field of speicialization of Dr. Singh is Food hygiene and Public Health. He has been working on salmonellae for past 32 years. He has also undertaken research project on pesticide and veterinary drug residues in foods of animal origin. He has done number of research projects on food safety and organized trainings, winter schools, seminar, national and international symposia.Dr. Singh is the President of Indian Association of Veterinary Public Health Specialists as well as Veterinary Alumni Society of Pantnagar. Julie Funk, DVM, MS, PhD is Associate professor in the Department of large animal clinical Sciences and Director of the Online Professinal Master of science in food safety in the college of veterinary medicine at michigna state university. She received the DVM from michigan state university after which she practived in a predominantly swine focused veterinary clinic in wolcott, Indiana, USA. After 2 years of practice she returned to academe and received a Master of Science from the university of Illinosis and a PhD from North Carolina State University. Both of the graduate programs were focused on the pre-harvest epidemiology of food borne pathogens in swine populations. Prior to joining Michigan State University, she was an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. Her current research focus remains in pre-harvest epidemiology of food borne pathogens in swine (Salmonella, Campylobacter and yersinia enterocolitica) as well as understanding the epidemiology of antimicrobial resistance pre-harvest. Dr. S.C. Tripathi, M.V.Sc, PhD, is working as Associate Professor, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pantnaga. He is having over 21 years of experience in teaching, research, extension and administration. He has published manyresearch as well as policy papers, Chapters in books/Proceedings. Dr. Tripathi worked as technical advisor to the Minister for Animal Husbandry & Fisheries, Uttar PRadesh and UP Poultry and Livestock Specialists Ltd., While working as Scientific Officer UPCAR, Lucknow (UP). Various awards conferred to Dr. Tripathi include; Late G.V. Narayan Khedkar Memorial Award-2002, Vigyan Bharti Apperciation award-2000 for Hindi writing and Pashu Mitra Award, 1999. Nanda Joshi, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, Michigan State University (MSU) with adjunct appointment at the Department of Animal Science, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, MSU. As a nutritionist at the Diagnostic Center for Population and Animal Health, MSU, his responsibilities include devbeloping reference ranges for vitamins and minerals for nutritional assessement for various species of animals. His current research focus is in the use of ultrasonic his bachelor's degree from Punjab Agricultural university, India, Masters (nutriotion) from The Ohio State University , he was faculty and administartor at the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science in Nepal. Dr. Joshi joined MSU in 1999. His teaching and research interest include animal nutrition, farming systems and animal waste management. He is actively involved in international agriculture programs focussed in South Asia.
