The narrative voices in this collection by Anita Agnihotri weave a textured tapestry out of the closely interlinked facets of the author's experiences. She combines journalistic essays and fiction into a mosaic that compels the reader to reflect on the many levels of reality of socio-economic development in India and the multilayered relationship between administrators and people. She has overcome the usual restrictive disjunctions between narrative genres and between literary and social science formats. Agnihotri draws her inspiration from human relationships, and her writings deal with the common woman and her hopes and aspirations.
