Author Biography
V.K. Gupta is a Professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Professor Gupta has written extensively and thought courses on Marketing of Agro Input and Output and Cooperative Organizations. He has been a Consultant to various international organizations and has coordinated several international management development Programme in fisheries, paddy-rice system and co-operative management. V.R. Gaikwad is Professor at the India Institute of Management, Ahemdabad. Between 1965 and 1970 he was Deputy Director of Study and Research at the National Institute of Community (now Rural) Development, Hyderabad. His publications include Panchayati Raj and Bureaucracy: A Study of the Relationship Patter; Small Farmers: State Policy and Programme Implementation; Evaluation study of applied Nutrition Programme (co-author); Evaluation Study of Intensive Agricultural District Programme (co-author); A Guide to Management of Small farmers Integrated Rice Cooperatives in Asia (co-author); and Rural Development Administration under Democratic Decentralization. His research areas include rural development administration, rural entrepreneurship, agro-processing cooperatives, risk anduncertainties in Indian agriculture, and planning and implementation of agricultural/rural development Programmes. He has undertaken consultancy assignments for national and international agencies. In 1980-81, he worked as FAO consultant for development of primary cooperatives in Indonesia.
