Description
This monograph presents the results of research into desert range improvement undertaken by a group of scientists from Turkmenia and Uzbekistan. It discusses the scientific fundamentals of diversifying desert vegetation under rain-fed conditions by making use of ecologicalresources alone, that is, moisture reserves and mineral nutrients available in the root zone of the soil. A brief description of the natural conditions of the types of deserts and of field stations where major research was conducted is given.
