  • Description

The book ‘India Tomorrow – The Next Superpower’ has been written keeping in view the tremendous latent potential of India to rise to a level where it can voice its opinion at the world's centre stage and also get reckoning as a nation with a wider influence in the comity of nations. Of late, India has moved away from the traditional economic model of mixed economy and adopted the path of globalization, privatization, and liberalization which has resulted in rich dividends in many fields.

The concept of superpower status has been discussed in the book in the light of various historical developments since World War II, and the Brettonwoods Conference, and also the current international scenario and the continuing battle among nations for military and economic dominance as well.

The book throws light on the emergence of various economic blocs like BRICS, EU, IBSA, CHIBSA, NAFTA, SAFTA, OPEC, INDOCHINDIA, CHINDIA, etc. and fathom their scope and potential for determining the future of nations and their economies. Whereas India could withstand the recent jolt of Global meltdown, even though strong international economies buckled down under the enormous pressure.

In the times ahead, India with its reform agenda in various sectors, will emerge as a strong nation. The book describes in detail the various ills that have plagued India at the present juncture.

The deteriorating corruption index and abysmally low human resources development index are a major concern of worry for India. The book also exhorts to beef up Indian security on all fronts. In the end, the book proposes a ten-point model for India, which if properly implemented, would make India a rich developed country and a superpower at the International level.
