Investment appraisal is a wide-ranging subject, and as such pervades the four stages of examinations applicable to the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). The contents page shows the scope of this introductory book, which assumes no knowledge of statistics or quantitative analysis techniques. It may therefore be attractive as an introduction to those techniques which are basic investment appraisal. Formulae are avoided as far as possible, with concentration on showing how to solve problems, using simple examples and full calculations and explanations. The objectives of this book are as follows: - To provide an introduction to investment appraisal for students at the earlier examination levels. - To provide a revision and refresher course to the basic investment appraisal techniques for those at a more advanced stage.
