Description
This book presents the travels and description of an official government embassy to Thailand and Indo China during the years 1821-1822. The author departed from Calcutta and made his way to Penang, to Malaca, to Singapore, and then to the court of Siam. All the way the author makes learned observation of all aspects of native life and customs describing them in minute detail. Observations on commercial and political opportunities are also noted. From Siam he goes to Cochin-China (Indo China). This account was first published in 1828.
