Author Biography
Niladri Sekhar Dash (b. 1967) has been working in the area of Corpus Linguistics, Language Technology, and Natural Language Processing for more than 15 years at the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. His first book (Corpus Linguistics and Language Technology : With Reference to Indian Languages (2005), published from the same house, has been widely acclaimed as one of the exhaustive works in these areas. The book is used as a course and reference book in several universities and Research institutes in India and abroad. To his Credit Dr. Dash has published 7 Books and more than 60 research papers in peer-reviewed journals. He has taught as a guest faculty at Madras University, Chennai; Jadavpur University, Kolkata; Punjabi University, Patiala; North Bengal University, Darjeeling, W : B.; and Kendriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati. He has acted as a Co-Investigator in the TOIL Project of Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India, besides acting as an Expert in the ASI@IT&C project of the European Commission, and in the Indo-African project of the International Scientific Research Network, Brazil. At present he acts as a Member of the Editorial Board of two international journals-Indian Journal of Applied Linguistics and Language Forum and as a consultant for three international research institutes located in Sweden, America, and New Zealand. Dr. Dash specialises in corpus linguistics, language technology, natural language processing, lexical semantics, and lexicography.
