Description
Worldwide negotiable instruments form the lifeline of all commercial dealings. Hence a proper understanding of the law relating to these instruments is very important, and the Law of Negotiable Instruments is an attempt to fulfil this requirement. In 1988, with the introduction of Chapter XVII to the Negotiable Instruments Act the dishonour of cheque for insufficient funds was made into a criminal offence under section 138 of the Act.
