Linguistic Anthropology can be defined as the study of language in context to its origin, development and progress. There are about six thousand different languages spoken in the world. Distribution of languages globally is very complex and difficult to define. Majority of the languages in the world are unwritten and many of these are now disappearing.This book documents the origin of different languages their gradual development, and their efforts. Emphasis is alid on the special relationship between languages and culture. About Author : Mrs. Darshna Tyagi (b. 1969) is an eminent scholar in the field of sociology and history. Her contribution in these field is worth mentioning. She has done her post graduation in sociology and history and MPhil (Sociology) from Delhi University. A prolific writer, she has authored a number of books and research papers. Her papers and articles have been published in many national and international journals. Presently she is associated with many educational institutions as a visiting faculty and is engaged with a number of projects.
