Author Biography
:Annapurna DasAnnapurna Das, born in India, received her BSc (Hons) and MSc degrees in Physics from Calcutta University, India, and her MTech degree in Microwave Electronics and PhD degree in Eletrical Engineering from University of Delhi,India.As a senior research fellow of CSIR, New Delhi, she was engaged in teaching undergraduate courses in Electrical Engineering Department, Delhi College ofEngineering, during 1980 to 1982 and in her doctoral research in the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, during 1983 to mid 1985.She joined the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering,Anna University in September 1985 where she was a Professor. She was incharge of the microwave laboratory and was engaged in a number of training, research and teaching programmes of the Anna University in the areas of microwaves, EMI/EMC, electromagnetics and antenna.She is a life member of Society of the EMC Engineers (India) and the IndianSociety of Technical Educations (ISTE). Her current and major areas of research interest are microwaves, EMI/EMC, micro-strip antennas and electromagnetics.Sisir DasSisir K Das, born in India, obtained his BSc (Hons) in Physics and BTech in Radio Physics and Electronics from Calcutta University, MTech and PhD degrees in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and Anna University respectively. After teaching and research work at the University of Delhi, he joined the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Government of India. Presently he is Dean, GNIT, Kolkata. Dr Das headed the Electromagnetics and subsequently EMC Division at SAMEER-Centre for Electromagnetics, under the Ministry. He is engaged in anumber of training, research and design consultancy assignments in the areas of EMI/EMC, microwaves, electromagnetic, and antennas. He was associated withseveral Indo-US collaborative research projects on EMC with NIST, USA.Dr Das was an Associate Editor of the IEEE Trans. on EMC (1994?2000),and presently senior member of IEEE, life member of the Society of EMC Engineers(India) and has also served as the Editor of the Journal of the Society of EMC Engineers (India). He received the SEMCE (I) Award 2002 from the society of EMC Engineers (India) in recognition of his contribution to the EMI/EMC solution for Indian Industrial Products. His current areas of interest are microwave measurements, EMC design, and mitigation techniques, signal integrity in highspeed/high frequency PCB design and biological hazard of EM fields.Table of Content:Chapter 1.
