These are the proceedings of the ObCom Conference on “Mobile, Ubiquitous & Pervasive Computing” held at Vellore Institute of Technology during December 18-19, 2006. With the fast changing technologies and customer-driven product development in the arena of wireless communication and mobile computing, the researchers and design engineers have to cope up with the fast changing end-users’ requirement, drastically reduced time-to-market and globalization. The above complexities can be handled and managed with the increased use of objects and components based software development. Handheld devices, smart places, wearable computing and disappearing computing phenomenon are diversifying and increasingly becoming an integral part of our everyday and working lives. It was very apt to had this years’ theme of ObCom was “Mobile, Ubiquitous & Pervasive Computing”.
