Libraries are beign swept along with the currents of rapidly changing technology. While continuing to provide many traditional information services, librarians are developing new skills sets and growing into the new roles that are necessary to support technology-based services.Technology has impacted nearly every facet of library work. The mission of the libraries-providing excellent information service-has not changed, but technology has added several new dimensions to this task. Fulfilling this enhanced mission can be difficult. Most libraries are not positioned for rapid change. About Author : Kusum Verma, (b. 14-6-1969) received her Masters degree in Political Science from Delhi Universtiy. She is BLIS Bachelor in Library and Information Science from IGNOU. She obtained MLIS Master in Library and Information Science from IGNOU also. Beisdes this she has also obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Library Automation and Networking. Currenlty she is working as Librarian in Directorate of Education, NCT of Delhi.
