Optimization Techniques is designed for undergraduate, postgraduate and research students of various universities offering the course in optimization techniques and operations research. The book contains applications of optimization techniques, classical optimization techniques, formulation of linear programming problems, solution by graphical and simplex method of linear programming problems, artificial techniques: Big method, Two-Phase method, duality of linear programming problem, sensitivity analysis, assignment and transportation problems, sequencing problems, project scheduling : CPM and PERT, dynamic programming problem, traveling salesmen problem, non-linear programming (constrained and unconstrained search techniques).

A.K. Malik faculty of Mathematics in B.K. Birla Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pilani (Rajasthan), has experience of more than sixs year in academics and research. His Ph.D. is from C.C.S. University, Meerut (U.P.). His area of specialization is Inventory and Supply Chain Management. He has published more than twenty research papers in reputed national and international journals. He has attended various seminars/conferences and presented his research papers. He is editorial board member of “International Journal of Soft Computing and Engineering”, “International Journal of Mathematical Science”, “International Journal of Mathematical Sciences and Applications” and “American Journal of Mathematics and Sciences”. He is author of six books. S.K. Yadav faculty Department of Mathematics in Birla Technical Training Institute, Pilani (Rajasthan). He did his M. Sc. (1988) and Ph.D. (1992) from Rajasthan University, Jaipur (Rajasthan). He has more than 23 years experience in teaching and research. Dr. Yadav did his Ph.D. work in applications of transformations. His current interest is in optimization techniques and operations research. He has attended various seminars and conferences and presented his research papers. S.R. Yadav Professor of Mathematics in B. K. Birla Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pilani (Rajasthan) (Formerly, Professor of Mathematics, BITS Pilani), has experience of more than forty-five years in teaching and research. Prof. Yadav spent his teaching time at BITS Pilani for 39 years and has been nucleus member of various divisions in BITS, Pilani. He did his Ph.D. from BITS, Pilani in 1973. He taught Optimization Techniques and Operations Research for about 30 years. He has published more than fifteen papers in national and international journals and has attended and presented research papers in various conferences. He served as Director at Shighania Institute of Law, Management, Science and Technology (At present Shighania University) Pacheri Badi, Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan).
