    The study has been divided into five broad chapters so as to highlight the main aspects of the probe as well as its related issues. The first chapter deals with the statement of problem, its objectives, scope of the study, review of literature and research methodology. The second chapter provides the various approaches and theories of inflation accounting. It deals with Current Purchasing Power (CPP) method, Current Cost Accounting (CCA), Specific and General Price Level Accounting (SPLA). The third chapter presents the inflation accounting practices in foreign countries. It deals with general price level changes in the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Belgium, Sweden, Japan, Germany, Australia and Italy. In the fourth chapter an attempt is made to discuss inflation accounting practices in India’s corporate sector. The fifth chapter is the concluding chapter of theme, which gives the summary of conclusions and provides suggestions and recommendations. It also suggests a practical model of inflation accounting for future use by corporates in India. About Author: Prof. G. Parthasarathy, formerly the Director, Institute of Development and Planning Studies, Visakhapatnam, had been the Professor and Head of the Department of Applied Economics, Andhra University, from 1956 to 1988. He was a Consultant to F.A.O. and played a key role in preparing documents for the World Conference on Agrarian Reforms and Rural Development. His publications include Implementation of Land Reforms in Andhra Pradesh, Small Farmers in Agricultural Development, Dilemmas of Marketable Surplus, and several articles published in reputed Journals.K. Uma Shankar Patnaik has been awarded the first Ph.D. from Department of Economics, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad in 1986. He was associated with the institutions like Administrative Staff College of India, Andhra Pradesh Education Services, Institute of Development and Planning Studies and Pondicherry Central University prior to joining University of Hyderabad as Reader in Economics. He has published so far three books and forty articles in reputed Indian and International Journals and presented a number of papers at national and international level conferences/seminars. He has completed six research projects funded by various Government Organisations and UGC. And one ongoing project is being financed by ICSSR. His specializations are in the areas of Agricultural Economics, Growth and Development Theories and Applied Econometrics.
