About The Authors Prof. Syed Sajjad Hussain obtained B.V.Sc. & A.H. Degree from college of Veterianry Sciences AP Agricultural University. Tirupati in 1973. He joined Animal Husbandry Department of Jammu & Kashmir State in 1973, in 1976, he was deputed by the J&K Governement to School of Animal Reproduction, Mandapeta, Andhra Pradesh for PG Diploma in Gynecology and Obst. He obtained MVSc. from GB Pant Universityof Agricultural Sciences & technology, Pantnagar, India (Thesis title "Studies on long acting analgesia in bovines") in 1984. He joined Sher-e Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and technology of kashmir as Assistant Proffessor -cum-Junior Scientist, Vety. Surgery and Radiology in 1984. He was elevated to Associate Proffessor in 1989. In 1998,he became Professor, Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex. He became Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry in Janurary 2003 and served on the post till December, 2005. In janurary, 2006 he was given the charge of project Planning & Monitoring officer. In 2007 he was selected as Directed Resident Instruction-cum-Dean PG Studies. As Director Resident Instruction-cum-Dean PG Studies he is responsible for direction and coordination of inter-faculty, inter -campus resident instructional programmes and for maintenance of standard of teaching at all levels of under-graduate and post-graduate studies. He has written more than 60 research papers and presented more than 40 papers at national seminars/congress/symposia. He is also author of several books and manual. he was awarded fellow of National Academy of Veterinary Sciences (NAVS), India in 2006. Dr. Tehseen Kousar Lone graduated from Bihar Veterinary College in 1984. She obtained her M.V.Sc. degree from Bisra Agricultural University, Ranchi in Veterinary Anatomy & Histology in 1986. She was awarded Doctorate Degree by CCS, Haryana Agriculture University, Hisar in 1994, She joined sher-e-kashmir University of agricultural Science & Technology of kashmir as Assistant Professor in veterianary Anatomy & Histology in 1987. She has several research publication to her credit. Dr. Bashir Ahmad Moulvi born on 3-4-1955 in the hilly District of Kishtwar of Jammu and kashmir State obtained his Doctoral Degree from CCSU, HAU, Hissar with distinction in the discipline of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology and Bachelors in Veterianry Sciences from Bisra Agriculture University Ranchi in 1982 and 1972 respectively. Dr. Moulvi has obtained his Masters in the discipline of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology and Bachelors in Veterianry Sciences from Birsa Agriculture University Ranchi in 1982 and 1972 respectively. Dr. Moulvi has a service of 25 years in teaching, research and extension education. He has handled many internally and externally funded research projects independently. He has guided 7 postgraduate students in his career. He is credited of having attended 10 National training courses at reputed Agricultural universities of India. He is a life member of various Societies including Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery, national academy of veterinary surgery, national academy of veterinary science, J and K Academy of science end SKUAST Journal of Research. He has been conferred upon various awards and fellowships including Dr. S.J.Angolo memorial prize for the best clinical article in surgery in 1996, IJVM best clinical article award for the year 2001, Birsa Agricultural University scholarship for Undergoing M.V.Sc. and ICAR research fellowship for undergoing his PhD programme. To his credit, there are 80 research papers published in reputed national as well as international Journals. Besides contributing the chapters in ruminant surgery edited by Tyagi and Singh 1993 and Veterinary Radiology edited by A.P.Singh and other he is also credited to be the co-authors of various books including Bovine Surgical Anatomy and a handbook on Local Anesthesia. Presently Dr. Moulvi is heading the Division of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology , Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal husbandry, Sher-e-kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and technology of kashmir, Jammu and kashmir.
