Author Biography
PAUL BOWLES is Professor of Economics and International Studies, University of Northern British Columbia, Canada. He is also affiliated with universities in Australia, China and Mexico. He has published in the areas of globalization, regionalism, development and the political economy of China's reforms. HENRY VELTMEYER is Professor of International Development Studies, Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas, Mexico, and St. Mary's University, Canada. Recent publications, coauthored with James Petras, include Unmasking Globalization, System in Crisis and Social Movements and State Power: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador.SCARLETT CORNELISSEN is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Political Science, University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. She has published on aspects related to cities as major emergent actors in the international economy, global tourism and the political economy of sport mega-events. NOELA INVERNIZZI is Professor at the Development Studies Program, University of Zacatecas, Mexico. She is author of Flexible and Disciplined: Brazilian Workers after Industrial Restructuring, and she is co-editor with G. Foladori of Disruptive Nanotechnologies. KWONG-LEUNG TANG is Chair and Professor of Social Work at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is author of, inter alia, Social Welfare Development in East Asia, and editor of Social Development
