The management of babies born without a normal anus and anorectum has been the subject matter of numerous publications over the last 2 centuries. The malformation occurs more commonly in the Indian subcontinent than in other parts of the world. The author's earlier book published 14 years ago was based on a study of 1250 patients with this malformation.
