  • Author Biography

    Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was born in Scotland, in the year 1859. He was a popular author and physician, known for his works in the genre of crime fiction. His first book, A Study in Scarlet, was published in 1886. His other novels are The Sign Of Four, The Hound of the Baskervilles, The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes, and The Valley of Fear. Apart from crime fiction, he has written historical books, non fiction, and short stories. Doyle’s parents were both Irish. He was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. He studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh. In 1885, he married Louisa Hawkins, who contracted tuberculosis and died in the year 1906. He later married Jean Elizabeth. Doyle died of a heart attack at the age of 71, in the year 1930.
