The entire book is narrated by the character Nick Carraway, who moves into New York after graduating from Yale. Nick’s cousin Daisy and her husband Tom live in the posh East Egg, right across thebay, and become good friends with him. In the meantime, Nick is fascinated with his neighbor, Jay Gatsby, who is well-known for his lavish parties, but remains a mysterious host to all his guests. Nick later learns that Gatsby and Daisy were once in love, and that Tom also has a mistress. This book revolves around their lives, with the highlight being Gatsby and Daisy’s relationship. Through the course of the further chapters, Nick narrates how their lives get entangled beyond a point and complications arise.
