In the process, he encountered caste prejudices, had his religion and character questioned contested arbitrary judicial diktats and tackled low cunning that masqueraded as legal wisdom. Justice S.S. Sodhi has achieved a distinguished track record, both as a lawyer and a judge. The most memorable phase in his career was his stint at the Allahabad High Court, initially as a judge and later as the chief justice. He has also held other important posts such as the chairperson of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and Lok Pal (ombudsman) in Punjab. Justice Sodhi lives in Chandigarh.
