THEORYAS VARIATION is a collection that attempts to showcase the protean performacne of theory as it moves from the world inot the text and back out inot the world again. Theory by its very nature resists totalization and normativization, and the essays assembled here demonstrate teh ability of theory to perform contingently in a variety of contexts in response to a broad range of textual problems and wordly challenges. The distinguished contributors to this volume are drawn from all over the world, and each essays achieves "theory " in its own singular way. About Author : R. Radhakrishnan is Professor of English and Comparative Literature and Chiar of the Department of Asian American Studies at the University of California, Irvine. Author of Diasporic Mediations: Between Home and Location (University of Minnesota Press, 1996), Theory In An Uneven World (Blackwell 2003), and History, The Human, and The World Between (forthcoming, Duke University Press, 2007), he is currently completing his next book, When Is the Poltiical?Kishori Nayak K teaches English at Mangalore University, India, and is Director of the Centre for Women's Studies there.
