University Physics — I

This book has been written according to the Unified syllabus prescribed for B.Sc. (I) Physics students for all Indian universities by University Grants Commission(U.G.C), New Delhi. The prescribed course for B.Sc. (I) has been divided into two parts--(1) Mechanics,Oscillations and Properties of Matter and (2) Electricity, Magnetism and Electromagnetic theory. First part of the book basically deals with mechanics which in fact forms the foundation of entire physics. This is why this course is taught first of all to the students in any physics syllabus. Second part is related to electromagnetism, having sufficient formulations similar to mechanics. The learned experts of U.G.C. Syllabus have placed, therefore, the two papers together related to mechanics and electromagnetism in the B.Sc.(Physics) First Year Course.
