He is Professor of Economics, Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. He is also the Managing Trustee of the International Institute for Development Studies (IIDS). He is former President of the Indian Economic Association and Former Managing Editor of the Indian Economic Journal.Prof. Asis Dasgupta is Former Vice-President of the Bangiya Arthaniti Parishad and Former Managing Editor, Arthabeekshan.
