This book is an attempt to understand women's silent struggle for getting power and position in the society and family. Various issues, challenges and strategies for women's empowerment are given an in-depth treatment in this book. Besides having basic issues, some unexplored areas are also touched. About Author : Prof. Hajira Kumar, Head, Department of Social Work, Jamia Millia Islami (Central University), New Delhi has been associated with teaching, research and exgtension for the last three decades. She is also providing professional and technical assistance to a number of NGOs, Ministries and Department of Social Work, in other universities.Jaimon Varghese, a social work practitioner and a guest faculty in Department of Social Work, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi has been a keen researcher on the issue of women empowerment for the past five years. He had his Masters in Social Work from Pune University and MA in Psychology from Annamalai University.
