This book is prepared to cater te basic need of animal nutrition as a subject of B.V.Sc. & A.H. Iind year students and those who are preparing for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) in animal sciences stream and also for civil services examination of different states. The animal nutrition Paper-II as per Veterinary Council of India (Minimum standards of veterinary education degree) regulation, 1993 includes two courses i.e. ANN - 221 (Livestock Feeding, credit hr. 2+1) and ANN-222 (Human, pet and other animals nutrition, credit hr. 1+1) with equal weightage in internal assessment as well as external assessment of 50 percent each.The theory and practical with littel variation at institutional level. Hand book of Applied animal nutrition is designed to cover all the material in a concise and course wise format. The objective (fill in blanks, true/false, multiple choices and matching) and subjective questions at the end of each chapter and model test papers and quick revision test paper with answer at the end of book will help the students for examination point of view. A chapter on horse feeding is also included in this book for better understanding of equines feeding.

Dr. Udeybir S Chahal, B.V.Sc & A.H., M.V.Sc. Ph.D., is an Animal Scientist in the department of animals genetics and breeding, Guru angad Dev veterinary & animal sciences university, Ludhiana and deputed as Deputy director in regional research & training centre, kalijharani-badal, Distpublised 5 international and 22 national reserch articles, 25 general articles, 7 review artilces, case report and more than 50 popular articles in different reputed journals of India. Dr. Vikas Srivastava, B.Sc., B.V.Sc. & A.H., M.V.Sc. is currently working as Nutrition Scientist in Ayurvetlimited, New Delhi and also assistant editor in editorial board of Ayurvet Pashuswasthya Sansar, a monthly magazine. He has specialization in large ruminants feeding along with poultry nutrition. Dr. Srivastava also has three year wide experience throughout north India in research and meritorious extension activities and published 6 research articles, 10 general articles, 2 review articles and more than 20 popular articles in different reputed journals and magazines related to animal sciences stream. Dr. Sanjay Kumar, B.V.Sc. & A.H., M.V.Sc.
