The book describes her experiences in Singapore and vicinity, life in the tropics, the archipelago, Malcca, Penang, Burma, Calcutta, Benaras, Chunar, Mirzapore and Allahabad, Kanpur and Lucknow, Agra, Futhepur Sikri, Bharatpur, Digh, Delhi, Old Delhi, Punjab, the Indus river and Bombay. The second part of this book describes the visit of the prince of wales in India in the years 1875-76. The book is rich in detail. She describes, her experiences to her journeys and all that she saw; the architecture the country side, the people, their customs and manners, the vegetation, the historical figures and their exploits, the religion of the people etc. This book is a reprint of the 1877 edition.
