About The Author Rangaswami Parthasarathy, an M.A. From Madras University, entered journalism in 1936, as an apperntice in the Madras mail, Madras, rising to the position of subeditor. He joined The Hindu In 1944 and subsequently became Chief Subeditor and New Editor in which capacity he served fro 12 year. He was assigned the task of writing a biography of The Hindu to mark its Centenary. The book, 100 years of the Hindu, Was released in 1978 by then president, N. Sanjeeva Reddi. He retired in 1979 as a Senior Assistant Editor. Parthasarthy is the author of three books on journalism: Memoirs of a New Editor – Living with The Hindu for 30 year (1980), Basic Journalism (1984)
