Operations Research also referred to as decision science, or management science is an interdisciplinary mathematical science that focuses on the effective use of technology by organizations. In contrast, many other science & engineering disciplines focus on technology giving secondary considerations to its use. Employing techniques from other mathematical sciences such as mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, and mathematical optimization operations research arrives at optimal or near-optimal solutions to complex decision-making problems. Because of its emphasis on human-technology interaction and because of its focus on practical applications, operations research has overlap with other disciplines, notably industrial engineering and management science, and draws on psychology and organization science.

Manish Dhingra (b. 1974) is an engineer and management professional with more than 15 years of experience in industry and academics. He has done BE (Production) from Nagpur University in 1996 and secured Master in Business Administration degree from Kurukshetra University in the year 2003. He started his career as an engineer and served into many companies of International repute and then switched to academic field after obtaining his MBA. He served TMIMT, Moradabad as Assistant Professor in Management Department for 3 years and then joined Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering and Technologu, Bareilly and served for 4 years. He has rich teaching experience in Research Methodology, Production and Operations Management, Operations Research, supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management and Industrial Engineering. He attended many International and National Conferences and thirteen research papers in International and National Journals and Conferences are to his credit. He is also a member of several Indian professional bodies. At present, he is working as Head Dept of Mechanical Engg as well as Humanities in Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad in UP. Vaishali Dhingra (b. 1975) is a known academician in the field of management. She has done Bachelor of Arts from Rohilkhand University in 1975 and then obtained her Masters in Business Administration degree from Rohilkhand University in 1997 and entered into the field of management education. She has served Invertis Institute of Management and Technology, Bareilly for three years. She joined TMIMT, Moradabad as Associate Professor in the year 2002 and worked for four years. In 2006 she joined Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering, Bareilly and served as academic coordinator in management department till 2010. Presently she is Faculty Incharge, College of Management and Computer Applications, Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad. She has more than twelve years of experience of teaching different subjects of management discipline. She has presented a large number of papers in national and international conferences.
